Interview of the new world recordman, Walter GATE by John DOEUF.
J.D. : Firstly, Congratulations Walter! You made us live an awesome moment. What did you feel during your throw?
W.G. : Thank you John, that is a very special moment in my life. I was already a triple world champion but that record was my ultimate goal. During these incredible critical seconds, i saw my whole life passing before my eyes. I remembered my 4 years of hard-training, my divorce due to my passion, all my dudes who never stopped to believe in me. I'm so proud that all these sacrifices were not for nothing.
J.D. : That's true that the life of a high-level sportsman is so complicated. I have a last question for you before letting you go: did you doubt after your first attempt, refused by the referee? It should have been so difficult mentally at this time, isn't it?
W.G. : Yeah, that's right. The first attempt was so frustrating. I conceed that i was in fire and i was able to bomb at any moment. But, the important thing is that i succeeded to focus again on my goal.
J.D. : That's how we recognize the great champions! Thanks for your time Walter, enjoy your success!
